About me
I am a registered psychotherapist in Montreal with the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. Additionally, I am a career counsellor with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec.
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in psychology from Concordia University. After graduating, I moved to Vancouver to complete my Master of Arts (MA) degree in Counselling Psychology at Adler University.
My professional experience
I began practicing at Pacifica Treatment Center in Vancouver, BC. I then decided to expand at The Montreal Center for Anxiety and Depression in Montreal QC, where I offer support to individuals suffering from anxiety and depression.
I was honoured to be a recurring guest on “Straight Talk with Sandra Reich” radio show and with Dr. Laurie Betito on CJAD 800 radio, where we talked about anxiety and relationships. (Check out the links to the talks on the resources page).
In addition, I love offering corporate workshops on anxiety, stress, compassion fatigue and effective communication.
Currently, in my private practice, I work with a variety of ages, stages of life and issues and focus on building coping skills, increasing emotional awareness, implementing self-care and improving communication.
MY APPROACH
My approach to therapy is to create a safe and collaborative environment for you to explore a deeper sense of who you are. I believe that everyone has the capability and strength to work on the issues they face and as such, my role in sessions is to facilitate and support you in developing a deeper self-awareness and expanding your coping skills.
My main focus is helping you to understand the meaning of your emotions and how it can correlate to your behaviours. You know yourself and your situation better than anyone else and I want to help empower you to take control, make changes in your life and reconnect with your true self.
My theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Intensive Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapy (ISTDP) and mindfulness techniques. I have complete a 3-year advanced training and supervision in Intensive short-term Psychodynamic Therapy (ISTDP) with Dr. Mark Vail and Lindsay Chipman.
It was not an easy road to get to where I am today as a psychotherapist. It took a lot of hard work and determination to achieve my dream in helping people live their best life. In the past, I have struggled with my own anxieties and have decided to give myself the gift of therapy. My dream is to be able to give this gift to you.
