WHAT TO EXPECT

Taking that first step into therapy can be difficult and intimidating. There can be many things that may get in the way.

Regardless of what holds you back, I encourage you to take that first step and book an appointment. Our work together will help you navigate towards the change you desire so that you live life on your own terms defined by your own rules. Our sessions together will include building a relationship with one another, developing self-awareness, learning to trust your truth, expanding coping skills and healing from past hurts.

Change can be scary but also exciting. Let me connect you to the exciting part and help you through the scary part so that you can have the life you desire.

Building a relationship

One of the most important parts of therapy is having a good relationship with your therapist. Therapy has to be a two-way street. If you don’t feel connected to your therapist, then the process might be very difficult for you, as you won’t want to work through some of the issues you are facing.

My goal in our first session is to see if we are a good fit for one another, and if we are not, then that's okay! You should feel comfortable, understood and supported.

Learning to trust your truth

I believe that within each of us there is important information that needs to be heard. Throughout our life, our traumas, worries and fears have taught us to mistrust our own inner life. Through psychotherapy, we can regain access to that important inner information and learn to trust ourselves in order to attain the freedom to be our true authentic selves.

Coping Strategies

Coping tools and strategies are a vital part of therapy. My goal is to build on the coping strategies that you already have and build a new “emotional tool kit”. Once you learn the various coping strategies, and apply them to your everyday life, it is amazing how you will notice an overall improvement.
